The growth of pickleball was evident at the 2nd Annual Round Robin held at the Eastern Greenwich Civic Center on Saturday, April 2nd. Players from Fairfield County, Westchester County, and even New Jersey came together in another successful event.

This year’s event included 28 teams, 14 men’s and 14 women’s doubles pairings. Pickleball doesn’t just continue to grow here in CT, but has been gaining popularity with players of all ages throughout the nation. The group was divided into 2 flights each, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The top men’s and women’s teams in each flight continued into the evening playing in a best 2 out of 3 games. The skilled pairing of Sachin Pathare and Samit Korgaonkar defeated Paul Morris and James Lee for the men’s flights. For the women, Betsy Hulme and Margo Chase-Wells defeated Betsy Underhill and Susan Bartow. Although the players and spectators had a great day of pickleball, they also enjoyed refreshments and complimentary Greenwich pickleball gear provided by event sponsors Code 20 Graphics (Shirts) and Majestic Lips (Lip Balm).

For the spring season, players can pre-register to play up to three days a week at The Eastern Greenwich Civic Center or may drop-in two days a week at The Western Greenwich Civic Center. Thank you to all the participants, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters!
