Fundraiser benefits the hospital’s community outreach services

Taste the Towns drew more than 250 guests to The Stanwich Club on March 4 for a delicious night of creative cocktails, fine wineries and scrumptious bites in support of the hundreds of vital outreach services provided to residents of Fairfield and Westchester counties by Community Health at Greenwich Hospital. Event chair Geri Corrigan and an enthusiastic committee of volunteers created a night to remember with fantastic silent auction packages and dancing to the sounds of DJ Flip.

Local emergency medical service organizations Greenwich EMS, Harrison EMS, and Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS were honored at the celebration, where mouthwatering specialties were prepared by over 35 top chefs and beverage distributors.

Norman G. Roth, president at Greenwich Hospital, praised the important work done by the first responders. “These organizations provide important lifesaving, pre-hospital medical care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.  This event is about the well-being of the communities we serve, and our EMS teams are shining examples of what it means to positively impact the health of the community,” he said.

On hand to accept the awards were several members of each organization, including GEMS Board ChairmanJohn Raben, Harrison EMS ChiefJoe Bilotti, and Port Chester-Rye-Rye Brook EMS Board ChairmanLloyd Miller.

Building healthy communities

Taste the Towns benefits Community Health at Greenwich Hospital, which provides vital outreach programs and services including free blood pressure screenings, mammograms and prostate exams for the uninsured and underinsured, educational school programs focusing on drug and alcohol prevention, and support groups that help patients and loved ones manage Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cancer, stroke, chronic pain, diabetes and other conditions.  Last year, Community Health touched the lives of nearly 20,000 residents in Fairfield and Westchester counties, accounting for much of the $36 million in community benefits Greenwich Hospital provides annually.

A festive array of delicacies

The beautiful Stanwich Club was elegantly transformed into a spring paradise by Ann Robertson of Dirt Floral in Cos Cob.  Lively blooms added pops of color that brightened every room.  Restaurants, catering companies and beverage distributors showcased their specialties alongside the silent auction throughout the venue.  Guests bid on exciting dining packages and wine tastings, weekend getaway trips and one-of-a-kind experiences, great fashion finds, relaxing spa treatments, fine wines and more.  Dancing took place on the tented terrace, which also featured a festive photo wall provided by Sebass Events.
