JCC Greenwich Davis Film Festival to screen Oscar winner, "Son of Saul", on September 21 at 7pm with a special appearance and live Q&A with lead actor Géza Röhrig


 

He was the talk of Cannes 2015 thanks to his stunning performance in the Oscar-winning Auschwitz drama, "Son of Saul". Meet lead actor Géza Röhrig at an exclusive Q&A following this screening on Wednesday, September 21 at 7pm at Bow-Tie Cinemas, Greenwich. 

Synopsis: Saul Ausländer is a Hungarian member of the Sonderkommando, the group of Jewish prisoners isolated from the camp and forced to assist the Nazis in the machinery of large-scale extermination. While working in one of the crematoriums, Saul discovers the body of a boy he takes for his son. As the Sonderkommando plans a rebellion, Saul decides to carry out an impossible task: save the child's body from the flames, find a rabbi to recite the mourner's Kaddish and offer the boy a proper burial. Winner of the 2015 Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, and Grand Prix at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
