On October 20, Saks Fifth Avenue will unveil its first store dedicated solely to shoes, 10022-SHOE at The Saks Shops At Greenwich, located at 20 East Elm Street. To celebrate the grand opening, Saks partnered with The Greenwich United Way women’s initiative, Sole Sisters, to give back to the local community.
On the eve of the official opening, Saks Fifth Avenue Chief Merchant Tracy Margolies, ELLE Editor-in-Chief Robbie Myers, and Aquazzura Founder and Creative Director Edgardo Osorio will host a meet-and-greet and cocktail reception to reveal Saks’ new shoe haven. Saks is contributing 100 percent of ticket sales to the October 19 events and 10 percent of proceeds* from the store’s sales from October 19 to October 23 (for a maximum donation of $10,000) to the Sole Sisters initiative. *Exclusions may apply.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Greenwich United Way Sole Sisters in celebration of another milestone for Saks Fifth Avenue,” said Jeff O’Geary, Vice President, General Manager, Saks Shops At Greenwich. “This group of women addresses the most pressing needs of our local area, a community that has strongly supported Saks since our doors first opened more than 20 years ago.”
Sole Sisters, The Greenwich United Way women’s initiative, has raised more than $1.1 million since its inception in 2005. The organization supports a specific charitable cause each year, and this year’s focus is funding solutions to meet Greenwich’s most critical needs.
“The Greenwich United Way is very excited to partner with Saks Fifth Avenue to celebrate the opening of the brand’s first 10022-SHOE store at the Saks Shops At Greenwich,” said David Rabin CEO of The Greenwich United Way. “Saks has been a great partner over the years, and we truly appreciate the brand’s unwavering support. We look forward to a successful event as well as ongoing friendship with the Saks Shops At Greenwich.”
