Eighth grade student Ryan Stern and his Role Model Mentor, Drew Warren, Class of 2017, Ridgefield High School

Everyone needs a mentor.  Take it from mentor Drew Warren, a Ridgefield High School senior who benefitted from an older high school role model while still in middle school.

“When I was in eighth grade I had someone to look up to,“ Drew adds, “And now I get to be that person for Ryan, my mentee.”

“With Role Model Mentors,  I am sharing what I have learned about high school,” Drew adds. “Not just how to do well in your academics but also how to have a good work-life balance and how to deal with social issues and stress.”

“The best thing about having Drew by my side this year is that  I am going to be well prepared for high school,”  says middle school student Ryan Stern. “There are lots of kids in middle school who struggle with subjects like math and languages like Spanish and French, and I say to them, “why wouldn’t you do this?” It’s a perfect way to do better.”

Drew, who is in the process of applying to colleges, observes, “Through mentoring, I have discovered that the best way to really learn something is to teach it.”

Role Model Mentors matches outstanding high school students with elementary and middle school students, based on shared interests and specific needs. In their weekly mentoring sessions, mentors offer younger kids a positive influence and a uniquely-tailored combination of activities. This might be study skills and sports, math practice and music practice or homework help combined with time for makers’ hobbies like robotics or art.

Visit rolemodelmentors.com/enroll or call 1-800-485-6013 for a free consultation. Through a trial offer, your first mentoring session is free.
