The West Point
Academy Wind Quintet
Sunday, 4/10 at 3:30 pm, Cole Auditorium
Peterson Concert Series
This patriotic quintet will present a varied and colorful program of virtuoso chamber music for winds, featuring repertoire ranging from the late 18th century courts of Europe to the contemporary masters of the 20th century.
The group will perform Henry Fillmore's Circus Bee (1908), Jacques Ibert's Trois Pièces Brèves (1930), a selection of Latin American folk music, as well as pieces by Dvorák, Hindemith and Machala.
This ensemble is comprised of players from within the West Point Concert Band and carries on the great tradition of woodwind playing that has existed at West Point since 1815.
