The Concert Chorale at Eastern Connecticut State University performed alongside the West Hartford Symphony Orchestra this past April for its annual spring concert in the Fine Arts Instructional Center (FAIC).
Among the performers was Matthew Koester '19 of Cos Cob, who sings in Eastern Concert Chorale. Koester majors in Music.
The Eastern Concert Chorale is the largest vocal ensemble at Eastern and focuses on choral and orchestral masterworks, as well as shorter choral selections. The ensemble performed a collection of opera overtures, choruses and arias with pieces by Orff, Borodin, Bizet, Puccini, Verdi and other composers.
Now housed in the new FAIC, the Music Program at Eastern Connecticut State University continues to provide theoretical and experiential opportunities that emphasize the history, theory and performance of music. All ensemble concerts are free and open to the public.
