On Thursday, May 4, Greenwich United Way hosted the organization's first ever golf tournament at Stanwich Club. Michael Breed, host of The Golf Fix on the Golf Channel, kicked off the "all inclusive" fundraising event with a clinic and worked one-on-one with attendees. The tournament is part of an effort to expand Annual Campaign fundraising though annual events like Sole Sisters and Brew Ha Ha.

"Greenwich residents are exposed to many golf tournaments but what made this one special was the work of our committee to give this event all the personal touches like we have done with our Sole Sister Luncheon and Brew Ha Ha Comedy Night," said Greenwich United Way CEO, David Rabin. He continued, "We will be making this an annual event that continues to set itself apart from the rest. Our underwriters, sponsors and the businesses that donated to our Live Auction and raffle made this one-of-a-kind event possible and we hope residents acknowledge their commitment to the Greenwich community and support them in addition to the work we do."

Among other programs and services this year, Greenwich United Way funding provided 1,600 Greenwich residents with free crisis counseling and sexual assault prevention programs. More than 1,500 Greenwich residents benefit from programs providing food and clothing supported by the Greenwich United Way. As the largest private source of funding for preschool scholarships in town, Greenwich United Way dollars supported tuition for 600 children from low or moderate income families.
