PASSOVER FUN FOR KIDS AND TEENS AT JCC GREENWICH MATZAH MAKING, MITZVAH PROJECT & MINI-SEDER
Passover (April 22-30), celebrated by Jewish people around the world, tells a great story of liberation and faith. The holiday, which commemorates the Jews’ freedom from slavery and their Exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land 3,500 years ago is rich with resilience and full of many traditions.
One of the better known Passover traditions, is eating matzah, which represents the unleavened bread the Jews ate on their journey to freedom.
This year, JCC Greenwich is hosting The Matzah Factory for families, children and teens to learn how to make matzah from scratch, much like the Jews did 3,500 years ago. Participants are invited to take what they make home or to donate it to Jewish Family Services of Greenwich for use during one of the nine Passover Seders that will be held at senior centers around town.
